Woodhorn Grange Cookhouse + Pub
You’re in for a treat when you sit down to eat with us at the Woodhorn Grange. We’ve got pristine park side views, lots of outdoor seating and we’re only a short drive from some of the best beaches in Northumberland. Whether you’re looking for a light bite, a big mixed grill or some chilled drinks with friends, we’re the place to be.
We have a great team at the Woodhorn Grange, not only are our dedicated team experts at serving, cooking and helping our guests relax, but they know Ashington and all the best spots to visit after you’re done eating with us.
We’re in a great spot for exploring this historic part of the country after a delicious meal. We overlook Woodhorn Grange Country Park, full of relaxing scenery and wildlife. We’re also next to the Queen Elizabeth II Lake. And of course, we’re only a short 10-minute drive from two of the best beaches in Northumberland, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea Beach and Cresswell Beach.
Why we love Ashington
Ashington is one of the largest towns in Northumberland, it has a long industrial heritage and was one of the biggest coal mining sites in the country. It’s also an area of outstanding natural beauty, great coastal walks and wonderful community spirit.
Ashington is in a very special part of Northumberland, a scenic part of the country with a rugged coast and plenty to see and do. It’s more than just beaches here with us, we’ve also got brilliant lakes, country parks and much more around. So, after you’ve enjoyed a delicious meal with us at the Woodhorn Grange, it’s worth popping next door to Woodhorn Grange Country Park or Queen Elizabeth II Country Park and taking some time to reconnect with nature.
We’re in a great spot if you love walking, with the Northumberland Coast Path and Wansbeck Riverside Park really close by. Woodhorn Museum and The Couple Statue at Newbiggin-by-the-Sea are both must-sees in the areas, and perfect for a day out after a meal with us. Ashington also has good links to Newcastle, it really brings the best of urban life to the countryside in a way that just works.
Our Big Stack burger is always in demand. Two 4oz steak burgers, covered in cheddar cheese, burger sauce and salad. Our Baked Salmon is great too, which comes with skin-on chips and creamy Hollandaise sauce.
We are, and we do the best Sunday roast in town! With our Sunday roasts you can choose from hand-carved roast beef, gammon or delicious turkey served with all the trimmings and our signature red wine gravy.
Nothing comes close to the Premier Inn Breakfast, which we serve at the Woodhorn Grange. An unlimited selection of the best of an English breakfast. That’s bacon, eggs cooked just how you like them, hash browns, black pudding, toast and plenty more with free tea and coffee.
We have a soft play area for kids indoors and a great outdoor play area with games and slides. More than enough to keep the kids busy before they eat!
We’re really family friendly. Not only do we have two play areas and brilliant parkland views, but our restaurant is laid out cleverly to reduce noise and disruption.
Book online for groups of 6 or less. For groups over 6 our restaurant is in line with all current restrictions. For specific numbers, please get in touch with us via email or over the phone.
